We're wearing coats everyday!?! Is this really India? It was shorts and t-shirts all the way six years ago when we travelled through South India in January 2008.
We've spent a few days in Delhi staying in the bustling Pahar Ganj area where every building seems to be a hotel.
With plenty of taxis, rikshaws and bicycle rikshaws waiting to rip us off!
You kind of forget how crazy hectic India is until you are back. A definite marmite country, you're either going to love it or hate it. I'm swaying between the two at the moment! There are such an intensity of colours, smells and emotions round every corner.
We've visited the Red Fort, the sandstone palace of the last Mughal emporers of India. Here is the Indian flag over the main entrance, Lahore Gate.
We visited the impressive Jama Masjid mosque. Everything is negotiable in India, we bargained on the admission price!
We have eaten delicious thali, fantastic jalebi and more veggie curry than you can shake a stick at. Frustratingly we have both already had a bout of Delhi Belly as well. We have been and watched a Hindi Bollywood movie, Yaariyan, and have wandered through the medieval bazaars of Old Delhi, where whole streets are dedicated to selling just one thing. For example there are whole markets selling just stationery or whole streets selling only books!
We are on our way to Rishikesh to try out some yoga in an Ashram. It better warm up soon!
