Bangkok baby

We survived the overnight train and met up with Kathryn and Richard for five nights in Bangkok. It has been sizzlingly hot with bits of heavy rain thrown in to cool us down. The temperatures have regularly felt like mid-40s.

We stayed in a nice hotel, even with the name Kevin in its title, with tasty buffet breakfast each morning.

We went to the Sunday market at Chatuchak with 150,000 stalls apparently. It was suitably massive and sooo hot.

We remember going to see the massive Wat Pho temple when we were last in Bangkok many years ago. So we went back and it is still massive and very impressive, even in the torrential rain.

We were lucky that there was a group of monks chanting for ages in the sitting Buddha temple. It was mesmerising, and dry.

Olive and Boo enjoyed putting coins into the line of bowls next to the reclining Buddha.

I really enjoyed the bustling Chinatown with its dirty back streets and vendors. But then I always love the Chinatown’s all round the world! There was even a guy selling Roti canai! Yum.
